ANNOUNCEMENT!!!! NEXT CLINIC IS SATURDAY 17TH JANUARY 2015
Goal: The pool to ocean swim clinic is a two part clinic for developing competence to swim in the open water. This clinic will give you strategies and teach a step by step approach to transitioning from the pool to open water swimming while building confidence.
Participants will learn mental strategies and methods to manage nervousness or panic for smart, competent open water racing. You’ll be a safer, faster, more confident swimmer!
Part 1: The Pool – We review the basics of freestyle and open water skills to prepare your competency as an open water swimmer.
Part 2: The Open Water – This open water portion of this clinic at Matilda Bay/Cottesloe Beach (dependent on ocean conditions on the day) teaches the fundamentals of open water swimming and efficient transitions as they relate to successful triathlon and open water swimming racing. Learn the ins and outs of surf entry, calm and rough water swimming, sighting and guiding for swimming in a straight line.
Dates: The P2OW clinics are held on Saturday OR Sunday mornings with pool followed by the open water segment.
Date: Saturday 17th January 2015! Investment: $66 [register here now…] NB: Clinic is limited to 20 people only to keep the instructional quality high. Register early to avoid disappointment.
Time: Pool 9:00-10:30am followed by River/Beach 11:00-12:00noon Venue Addresses: Pool – Scotch College Outdoor heated 50m pool, Shenton Road, Swanbourne Beach/River – Cottesloe Beach or Matilda Bay dependent on weather conditions on the day
Mandatory Equipment List: Swim Goggles, Swim Cap, Snorkelling Fins or Flippers (not scuba fins), Sunscreen, Towel, Water Bottle
